Description
PMC-Sierra's networking chips scale from T1 and E1 through to SONET OC-192 for metro access, metro transport, DSLAM and Ethernet over SONET/SDH equipment. PMC-Sierra's 64-Bit RISC MIPS-based processor chips operate from 200 MHz to 1 GHz, with a best-in-class price-power-performance ratio. They are optimized for printers, set-top boxes, high definition televisions, personal video recorders, server/storage systems, robotics, telematics, routers and switches. PMC-Sierra provides 1G, 2G and 4G Fibre Channel chips for SAN/NAS storage applications. PMC-Sierra has also added 3G chips for SAS and SATA storage systems. PMC-Sierra provides chips that enable scalable, feature rich 2G, 2.5G and 3G wireless equipment for both ATM and IP traffic and that comply with CDMA and WCDMA industry specifications. PMC-Sierra's serializer/deserializer (SERDES) chips provide superior signal integrity performance for high-speed backplanes. PMC-Sierra's Multi-Service Processor (MSP) chips add PSTN-quality VoIP to Residential and SOHO gateways, Analog Telephone Adapters (ATA) and small IP PBXs.
